Students value their history when they are familiar with it. Understanding one's past fosters a sense of belonging and enables students to grasp their place in the broader context. Come along for an engaging start-of-the-year initiative to help students recognize the significance of their history.

Who to write about ...

Pick a person that you admire and want to know more about. This could be a family member, a neighbor, or someone you know in your community.

Interview them, asking questions about their childhood experiences or how they survived past events. Perhaps they grew up on a ranch or had a unique experience living through a natural disaster.
